Scrollo AI collects the following information when you use our service: email address and name when you create an account, content preferences including your niche, platform, and brand tone, usage data such as number of generations used, and anonymous analytics data including page views collected through Vercel Analytics.
We use your information to provide and personalize the Scrollo AI service, generate content ideas tailored to your niche and preferences, improve our AI models and app features, and send important service notifications. We do not sell your personal data to any third parties under any circumstances.
Your account data is stored securely through Clerk Authentication. Content ideas are generated in real time and are not stored on our servers after generation. We implement industry standard security measures to protect your data.
Ask Scrollo chat messages are kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically. Only the short preferences you choose to save from a chat are kept longer. Your saved preferences and your profile answers, such as whether you are a business or a personal brand, your niche, your city and your goal, are kept until you delete them in Settings or delete your account. Account analysis results, including the patterns we read from your public posts, are kept for 30 days and are refreshed when you run a new analysis. Counts of how far people get through onboarding are kept for 90 days as numbers only, with no names, emails or handles attached; before you create an account these counts use a random install id stored on your device, which you can clear at any time by clearing the app data. We store these using Upstash Redis, which processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
Scrollo AI uses the following third party services, each governed by their own privacy policy: Clerk for user authentication and account management, Anthropic Claude API for AI content generation, OpenAI for turning a short piece of video audio into text as described below, Upstash Redis as a data processor for the storage described above, Vercel for hosting and analytics, and Meta for measuring which ads bring creators to the iPhone app as described below.
In the iPhone app we use Meta’s measurement tools to understand which ads bring creators to Scrollo AI. Meta receives a small number of app events, such as the app being opened, an account being created, and an account analysis finishing. It receives your device advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when we ask, which we only ask once you have finished setting up and can see your plan. If you say no, or never answer, the advertising identifier is not collected and the app works exactly the same. Meta never receives your content, your ideas, your handle or your email address. There is no Facebook login in Scrollo AI and we do not post anything anywhere.
When you check a video before posting, up to the first 30 seconds of its audio is turned into text so your opening line can be scored. In the latest iPhone app this happens on your phone and the audio never leaves it. When your phone cannot do it, that short piece of audio is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, and nothing else about the video goes with it. Scrollo AI does not store that audio: it is used for the one score and then discarded. The video file itself is never uploaded, and the frames we read from it are not kept after the score is produced.
We use your email address to send you account and service messages, such as confirming your account or telling you about a problem with it. We may also email you about product updates, new features and tips for using Scrollo AI. Every one of those product emails has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately and permanently: we do not add you back. Account and service messages are not marketing and cannot be unsubscribed from while you have an account, because they are how we tell you about your own account. Your email address is stored by Clerk, who run our sign-in, and by Resend, who deliver our email. Neither is given your content, your handle or your analysis.
You have the right to access your personal data at any time, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and all associated data, and opt out of non-essential communications. To delete your account go to Settings inside the app and select Delete Account. All personal data will be removed within 30 days of deletion.
Scrollo AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
